my family tree

Just a quick shout out to my family. I am SO lucky to have such a supportive bunch of people. Seriously. Right now, check it out.
Mom and Dad: Letting me live with them for free before I get married. I mean, come on. Sweet deal.

My brother David, his wife Tiffany and their 1 yr old Benjamin: Moving to Florida for the next year or so to save money for Law School in 2010. They are staying with us for a few days before they move into their apt in Jacksonville, FL. They are wonderful and Tiffany has been a HUGE help with wedding stress. Life savor.

Jillian: Seriously, my ultimate idol. That girl is amazing. Takes charge. She has already whipped me up a LGN (Look Good Naked) diet before I get married. She expects a lot, but the results are guaranteed :-)

Jared: Serious rockstar. He is one huge powerhouse. He is moving out to Florida to sell Pest Control with my other bro David. He'll be here in a few weeks. I'm obsessed with Jared. He's planning on turning in his mission papers at the end of the summer. Seriously? Seriously. I can't wait. Maybe he'll get called to Poland :-) They'll take any Steele they can get!!!

And my dear sweet dog Apache: We sure miss him. I've been such a sad girl since he was put down. We're thinking about getting a mini schnauzer in a couple months.

My family rocks. And...Even better...I'm marrying into a super awesome family! They already love me (which means, they haven't seen my crazy side yet...) and I'm so excited to be apart of something new. All I have to say is...Ryan completes me. haha. But Seriously. He is AMAZING and I am such a lucky girl. August 9th better come quick!

Amazing Fiance, Amazing Friends, and...Rexburg

I just got back from a fabulous weekend spent in Rexburg, Idaho! Ryan and I definitely needed this trip. I am learning patience with being apart from Ryan and all I can say is 3 more weeks and he's back for GOOD! Thank goodness I'm quickly losing my mind!

Ryan and I were busy busy busy. Thursday was just a fun catch up day with lots of hanging out and staying inside (it was snowing...ew). That night, McKenzie Ricks (my long lost kindred spirit who I met Fall 2006 and she has become one of my closest and most special friends. She married a rocker, Bryce, he's awesome and I'm so so so excited to be married neighbors!), anyways, McKenzie called me and asked to see if Ryan and I wanted to come over and watch Lost! Of course we went over and we had SO much fun. Lots of laughs and sad to say, we didn't watch any of Lost.

Friday was a special day. Ryan and I had planned to do a session at the Rexburg Temple. He was busy with classes and a test in the morning, but everything worked out and we met McKenzie and Bryce in there. That temple is, Gorgeous, and I am so grateful to have been able to spend a few hours in there. My testimony of temples grows stronger and stronger every time I attend. I learn something new every time I go. It was amazing to be with Ryan. I can't wait to be sealed to him for Time and All Eternity (oooo butterflies in my tummy....)!!! We went to dinner afterwards and saw 10,000 BC (AWESOME movie) and finished up the night with some DQ ice cream. It's interesting how you can crave ice cream all year round, even when it's 18 degrees outside.

Saturday was a slow day but so needed. I went out for lunch with my dear friend Jessie George! I met Jessie when she moved to Charlotte to nanny for her Aunt and Uncle. She is a doll and it was such a treat to see her!

My mom had called me that late afternoon and told me her and my dad had to put down my 13 yr old dog, Apache. I knew it was coming. He has been going downhill pretty quickly in the last few months. I cried a lot when I heard the news, but it was so comforting being with Ryan. I miss Apache already. The house is so quiet. He was such a sweet spirit and I really am grateful for his love.

Sunday was such a fun day! Ryan, his brother Stu, and his sister Trisha and I drove down to Pocatello to spend the afternoon with his adorable grandparents! They prepared a delicious lunch and it was so fun to meet them! His grandpa is such a joker and now I know where Ryan's joking/teasing comes from!

Now I am home, the house is quiet and I miss Ryan like crazy.

Ingrid Michaelson

If anyone is wondering if her CD is worth to purchase....
IT IS.
OBSESSED.
I have this weird obsession with the new female artist thing happening right now. Ryan thinks it's a feminist movement, but I think it's a bunch of awesome talent. Much better than the Britney era. I have Feist, Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Regina Spektor...loving them all!

Europe Trip 2015

After seeing the new movie, PS I Love You, I decided that the next time I go to Europe, I will go to Ireland. Ideal situation: Fly into London, train ride up to Scotland and explore, and then ferry/fly/canoe to Ireland. I'm obsessed with the castles and the gorgeous landscape. Seeing as though I will be a happy law school student wife until the end of 2013, we should probably start saving for this trip NOW! and This would be Ryan's first time to Europe. I would love to take him everywhere I went my first time going, but I thought, make it a romantic trip and go to London, go see Wicked (finally), stay at a B&B somewhere on the coast, and walk where Keira Knightley walked while filming Pride and Prejudice! Awesome idea right?

Which reminds me, remember Jane when we were in the Versailles Palace and Bro. Andersen was explaining to us some interesting details about the Palace, and Lexy goes, "Is this really where Kirsten Dunst walked????" and we all started giggling?? Amazing.

oh Helen Keller

I'm not sure but I found this interesting: This 1888 photo released by the New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston shows Helen Keller when she was eight years old, holding hands with her teacher, Anne Sullivan, during a summer vacation to Brewster, Mass., on Cape Cod. A staff member at the society discovered the photograph in a large photography collection recently donated to the society. When Sullivan arrived at the Keller household to teach Helen, she gave her a doll as a present. Although Keller had many dolls throughout her childhood, this is believed to be the first known photograph of Helen Keller with one of her dolls.

Shout out to Ingrid

I just wanted to let my Mom know (eventhough she never reads my blog), she is the coolest and most awesome Mom. I have been such a pain in the BUTT with all this mission/wedding drama and I just wanted her to know that I appreciate Everything she does for me. She has been a champ with wedding preparations. My mind has been quite fuzzy lately, and she helps me see the positive in all this planning! Anyways, Ingrid, you are bomb.com. Love you girl. (oh, and that's her veil, NOT mine)

Want a new book to read?

I just finished reading a great book written by Alice Hoffman called The Probable Future. It was a quick read and it definitely held my attention throughout. No vampires in this book, but there is some "magic." Here's the skinny: "Alice Hoffman's most magical novel to date? Three generations of extraordinary women are driven to unite in crisis and discover the rewards of reconciliation and love. Women of the Sparrow family have unusual gifts. Elinor can detect falsehood. Her daughter, Jenny, can see people's dreams when they sleep."

My new favorite color

This is my new favorite color and sweater. It is the greatest thing that has come to the Gap in a long time. This sweater comes in 4 different colors, geranium (see picture), military blue, heather gray, and ivory frost. I bought the geranium one the day shipment came in and I am close to getting the gray one too :-) I've pieced it with a dress, pencil skirt, casual jeans with a button up, and my Mom even took it one day! It's priced at $39.50 And I Promise you, you will not be disappointed with this purchase!
